Holy Shit, I love Cookies

Christ on the cross, this week was long and the coming weeks will only be longer. The second wave is steadily approaching while protests and riots are occurring throughout country - we need sugar to help us cope with the uncertainty of it all. Cookie Therapy is one of the only constant and positive rituals I have in my life right now - I couldn’t be doing this without YOU. I hope you are doing alright, wherever you are while you read this, I hope you did one kind thing for yourself today. If you are truly struggling, there are options out there. I am just as much an advocate of cookies as I am for therapy. I love you.
Don’t forget to wash your hands, shield your face, fuck the police & listen to Chromatica.

Olive Oil Cake

I had my first Olive Oil cake when I worked at The Thompson Hotel in Chicago. This was where my obsession with restaurants, annoyingly natural wine and being chummy with chefs began. I have covered it with an orange blossom chocolate. This recipe is from one of my talented chef friends in Chicago, thankful for her support.

Cake Balls

This recipe is from Tosi. I used to be a huge fan of hers until Milk bar lost it’s touch. She is still an excellent pastry chef and if you have 0 idea who I am referring to, please watch Christina Tosi’s Chefs Table episode. Thankful for my influencers.

Chocolate Sprinkle Cookie

My obsession with sprinkles began on the day I was born. There is nothing better than a bowl of chocolate ice cream absolutely covered by rainbow sprinkles. I like my sprinkles soft, giving a gentle texture to any dessert. This cookie is probably me in cookie form, I hope you enjoy it.

Sugar Cookie

I have been making these sugar cookies since I was 13 and I remember feeling really overwhelmed by them each time. Royal Icing isn’t easy when you’re 13 and easily distracted. This week, I distracted myself with tiny things. Here are some tiny treats that make me think of the ocean and vacation.
