Happy Pride!

Pride is more than parades, speedos and glitter.
I hope this weeks box can be a bit educational for you while you indulge yourself.
Please enjoy. xo.

Chocolates

These chocolates are the pride flag and the trans flag.

In 2019, at least 26 transgender or gender non-conforming people were fatally shot or killed by other violent means.

91% were black women
81% were under the age of 30
68% of them lived in the south

We celebrate pride but lets not forget the work that has to be done and the inclusivity and safety we can provide for people who are targeted for being themselves.

Rainbow & Flower

Rainbows are gay, even Spongebob can produce a rainbow between his two hands! We love to see it.

These cookies, while tacky and not something I would ever do normally, are for kids. I found this childrens pride activity and thought it was so beautiful some parents are taking hands on approaches to teaching their children about all kinds of love and lifestyles, even if its through food coloring and dough.

I hope that you are accepted by your family and if you are or are not, you are apart of my chosen family.

Sprinkle

Did you know that there is a lot of controversy around sprinkles, also known as “jimmies”.

“Jimmies” is the Boston/New England word for “chocolate sprinkles.” Ask any ice cream vendor for jimmies on your sundae, and so long as you’re within a 200-mile radius of Boston, chances are they’ll understand you. Because chocolate sprinkles are black, early Bostonian racists referred to them as jimmies — because of the Jim Crow laws.

As time has passed, the name was changed to chocolate sprinkles and eventually rainbow sprinkles came around! Joy!
This cookie is full of color, some chocolate and great for dipping. I hope you dip and find yourself as an ally of all sprinkles and people.

Unicorns

First of all- I LOVE UNICORNS. I love when i meet other people who shamelessly love unicorns.

Unicorns have become synonymous with the LGBTQ community for a few decades now, with a recent boom in the 2000’s. The fluidity between depictions of unicorns resonates with a lot of the LGBT+ community who don’t conform to the gender binary, sexual orientation and so forth.

I identify with unicorns for many reasons and it is comforting to know so many others feel the same. While my identity is mostly accepted by society, others aren’t as safe. I am grateful for the comfort certain symbols, like the unicorn, do for a community so vast.

Thank you for your support! Your generous tips have helped cover the cost of product, labor and delivery. I am looking into a LLC as well as a kitchen space to rent out. Due to my lack of employment, 50% of your donation will be going to The Black Trans Fund. To find out more about it, you can visit their website at https://groundswellfund.org/black-trans-fund/
